What is The Syllabus for Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the SSC CGL 2019

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam is conducted by SSC every year. SSC conducts the CGL exam in four tiers; SSC CGL Tier1, Tier 2 Tier 3 and Tier 4. The SSC CGL exam for tier 1 and Tier 2 are computer-based written exam.


Here is the syllabus for SSC CGL Tier -1 and Tier 2 exam.


Syllabus of SSC CGL Tier -1


General Intelligence & Reasoning: Coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern –folding & unfolding, etc.

General Awareness: GK based on India and its neighboring countries, History, Geography and Culture of India, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.

Quantitative Aptitude: Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart, etc.

English Comprehension: Spot the errors, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, idioms & phrases, etc.


Syllabus of SSC CGL Tier – 2


Quantitative Ability: Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Regular Right Pyramid with the triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, etc

English Language & Comprehension: Fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, detecting misspelled words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, etc

Statistics for Investigator Grade-II: Measures of Dispersion, Probability, Statistical Inference, Analysis of Variance, Index Numbers, etc


General Studies (Finance and Economics)


Part A: Finance and Account: Fundamental principles and the basic concept of Accounting, Limitations of Financial Accounting, Basic concepts, and Conventions, Basic concepts of accounting etc.

Part B: Economics and Governance: Finance Commission-Role and function, Basic Concept of Economics and introduction to Micro Economics Definition, Law of demand and Elasticity of demand, Indian Economy Nature of the Indian Economy Role of different sectors, etc.
